Briefly History of St. Cecilia Church

Founded in 1967 in a fast-growing section of Mount Prospect. The parish has grown to 1500 registered families of diverse ethnic backgrounds. It used to serve as site for the Mt. Prospect Area Hispanic Ministry. Now the Hispanics are active members and essential to the parish’s growth since July 2019. The parish has many active ministries and joyful events throughout the year. The modern church is shaped like a sea shell. It was completed in 1970. In addition a gathering space, wake room, and portico were added in 1997.

The treasures of our parish are: the warmhearted people, diverse ethnic backgrounds, and a relic of St. Cecilia enclose in the antique reliquary. You can view the relic in the gathering space.
